For years Ari Filho lived among small coffee producers in Manhumirim, in the region of Matas de Minas, Brazil, like his grandfather, who made history in the region for fighting for education, social justice and a decent quality of life for the men in the field. That is how Ari also fell in love with the handmade coffee growing. Ari fought for their region to become reference in the production of specialty coffees from the mountain. He worked day and night with this mission. He liked to closely follow the whole cycle: analysis and correction of the soil, planting of seedlings, fertilization of the crop, cleaning, fragrance of flowering, harvesting, post-harvest and grain separation. Ari doesn’t rest for a second, because as an artisan producer, he knows well that behind the good scent of the hot coffee smoke, is a passionate work 365 days a year.
